Bowes Legal is a boutique law firm founded by Jane Bowes when it became apparent that injured people, particularly in her area of Central Queensland deserved fairer, higher quality legal representation at an affordable cost.
“Injured people are already vulnerable enough; Law firms should not be charging exorbitant legal fees for a service that can be provided at a fraction of the cost… by a more experienced lawyer.”
Locals are moving away from big firms and looking for better value for money, a personalised service, experienced lawyers to handle their case from start to end and to be treated like a person, not a number.
As the Director and Principal Lawyer, Jane is genuinely passionate about helping locals achieve better outcomes when they are faced with an uphill battle against large insurance giants. At Bowes legal we specialise in injury claims including but not limited to:
- Mining injuries and deaths (Workcover and public liability claims) – Dysart, Grasstree, Jellinbah, Coronado, Goonyella, Peak Downs, Saraji, Curragh, Byerwen (to name a few)
- Heavy industry injuries and deaths (Workcover and public liability claims) – Rockhampton, Gladstone, Biloela, Callide
- Meatworks injuries – overuse injuries, over period of time injuries and specific incidents
- Hospital worker injuries - overuse injuries, over period of time injuries and specific incidents
- Motor vehicle and motor bike accidents (CTP and Nominal Defendant Claims)
- Cycling accidents (Public liability and CTP claims)
- Shopping centre trips, slips and falls (public liability claims)
- Psychiatric injury claims
The Bowes Legal Difference
You will never feel like another number,
you will become one of the family.
At Bowes Legal only highly experienced lawyers work on files and our clients will only be charged a fair and reasonable fee for the legal services. This sets us apart from our larger competitors.
Our fees are capped at 30% so our clients will never have bill shock at the completion of the matter. Many personal injury law firms charge clients up to 50% (the 50/50 rule). These firms also charge uplift fees of 25% as well as care and consideration fees of 30% on top of legal fees resulting in exorbitant legal fees for an injured client (that is an extra 55% on top of their bill). This is something that does not sit well with us at Bowes Legal.
The 50/50 rule applies to all personal injuries cases in Queensland and we will always comply with this rule. The difference between us and our competitors is, we will always ensure you get more in your hand than we charge in legal fees. We don’t split hairs here, we ensure you will always get the biggest share. Regardless, our fees are capped at 30% so you will always end up better off at Bowes Legal.
We are here to make a genuine difference in the lives of our clients, to provide the best possible legal services at fair and reasonable prices.
At Bowes Legal, we are practicing personal injury law, but ethically, with a conscience and a vision to improve the standard, that’s the difference. We were founded for the people, not the Partners.
The law should be accessible to all, not just those who can afford it.
